Medical Payments Coverage

Medical payments coverage comes into affect regardless of whether or not you are at fault or another driver is at fault. With medical payments coverage you will be able to get both medical expenses and funeral costs paid for if needed, and will cover the driver and all passengers who are injured or killed in an insured vehicle in the event of an accident.

When you choose medical payments coverage you will be asked to choose what kind of limits you would like, and the next two circumstances will only be covered if you choose to have them covered. If you and any family members were to get into an accident while driving someone else’s vehicle, you will still be covered with medical payments coverage. In addition medical payments coverage will help policyholders and their family members if they are on foot and get hit by a vehicle.

If you, your family members, and regular passengers already have a fully covered health plan then your insurance company may tell you that you do not need medical payments coverage. You may want to still consider it because if your health plan makes you pay a deductible, then medical payments coverage may be able to help pay the deductible for you.
