Esurance Auto insurance is a very important investment that all states require its citizens to have in one way or another. As far as who esurance thinks you should have on your account is also just as important. Esurance believes you should insure anyone that shares the same address with you, regardless of if the person or people are a spouse, your children, a domestic partner, or a roommate. On top of that esurance thinks all people should be on your account regardless of if they actually drive one of your insured vehicles or not. Like many other insurance companies, esurance also offers several different types of discounts to their customers. You can get a discount if you insured more than one vehicle with esurance. If you have a good driving record then you can get esurance’s good driver discount, and this discount is given on an individual basis so if your spouse is in an accident it would affect them but not you. Esurance will also give you a discount if you have extra safety features installed in your vehicle, like air bags, head restraints, and anti-lock brakes (ABS). Another discount you can get with esurance is for having anti-theft features, in case someone would try to steal or vandalize your vehicle. Some anti-theft devices include: On Star, Lojack, and fuel and ignition cut-off switches. If you take accredited driver safety courses you can get a discount with esurance. Esurance also offers the good student discount to students who can keep a grade point average of a 3.0 or “B” average and are under the age of 25. Depending on what your occupation is esurance may be able to offer you a discount. For example having a degree or holding a license in Engineering or Education can get you a discount. Some less common types of discounts that esurance offers are if you pay your insurance in full, if you are a single parent, discounts if your children attend college away from home, discounts for mature drivers, and discounts if you rarely drive your insured vehicle. Esurance will also ask you to get what is called a collision deductible waiver when you get collision coverage with them. A collision deductible waiver will come into affect if you were to get into an accident with someone who does not have any insurance at all, and they do not feel its fair for you to have to pay for everything yourself. Comprehensive coverage with esurance is for accidents that do not involve damages to your car because of a collision with another vehicle.
